Men’s Breakfast – April 1, 2017

IMG_5463Today, some of the men at Joy Christian Fellowship met for our monthly discipleship meeting. We meet on the first Saturday of every month (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM). Breakfast is provided.

The focus of our study today was “A Man’s Responsibility to His Church.” We discussed various ways men are responsible to their local congregations before God. We zeroed in on our responsibility in making disciples (which is the church’s main responsibility – see Matthew 28:18-20). Among other things, we noted that this begins with evangelism (reaching the lost with the saving gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ). We then shared different ways through which we (as men at Joy Christian Fellowship), can engage ourselves in evangelism and discipleship. This was a very profitable discussion and one that brought great joy to my heart.

At the end of the meeting, we all decided to meet again next Saturday. This time, not to discuss evangelism, but rather to go out and evangelise the lost. So, LORD willing, the men at Joy Christian Fellowship, will be meeting at the Newton Bus Exchange next Saturday (10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon) to share the gospel with the people at the station and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Let me ask you all (men and women) to:
1. Please pray for the LORD’s guidance and direction as we prepare for this outreach opportunity,
2. Please pray that this will be a fruitful enterprise – that the gospel will be shared faithfully and that the LORD may be pleased to save sinners through this effort,
3. That the LORD may put it in all of our hearts to make this a regular part of our own discipleship.

If any of you men (from other congregations) would like to join us, please feel free to do so.

May the Name of the LORD be glorified!

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Fletcher
